You can never have too many immune boosting foods in your diet.

So here is a gorgeous smoothie jam packed with vitamin c from lemon, pineapple, water-cress and celery. Pineapple also contains bromelain a fantastic digestive enzyme as well as immune booster.

There is also plenty of ginger, which is strongly antibacterial and anti-inflammatory and a fantastic digestive aid. Spinach is high in betacarotene, which is converted into vitamin A in our bodies. This is a vitamin that is extremely important to our gut lining and digestive health and as over 70% of our immunity sits in our gut, vitamin A is also very important for a well functioning immune system.

Pumpkin seeds are high in the mineral zinc, which is vital for a healthy immune system and turmeric contains curcumin, a compound that has been found to have strong anti-inflammatory properties which help boost immunity.


1 1/2 cups fresh pineapple

1 handful watercress

1 handful Spinach

2 stalks celery

1/2 cup water

1/2 -1 inch ginger

1/2 lemon

2 inches fresh turmeric or ½ tsp ground turmeric

1 tsp manuka honey (minimum 10 UMF)

1tsp pumpkin seeds

1/3 avocado (optional)

1. Peel pineapple, ginger, fresh turmeric as well as lemon (keep lemon peel on if organic and unwaxed).

2. Chop pineapple, celery, ginger, lemon and turmeric into bite sized pieces.

3. Put all ingredients in blender and mix thoroughly.

For a more filling meal, add 1/3 avocado to the blend. You can also add 1/2 -1 tbsp of any supergreen powder to boost immunity further.
