Nutritional Therapy &

Functional Medicine

Functional Medicine uses nutrition science to promote individualised care, optimal health and wellbeing.  Every individual is unique and so their approach to health needs to be the same.

It considers root causes of ill health, often based on biochemical, and genetic tests as well as technological tools and tailor dietary and lifestyle programmes around these. There are many many connections between our various organs, what we do, what we eat, what we subject our bodies to and our health and they all need to be taken into consideration.

A good example is headaches, if someone suffers from regular headaches, the root cause can be anything from food intolerance, stress, hormone related issues, nutrient deficiencies, structural issues and much more. If possible rather than just resolving to just taking pain killers, Functional Medicine aims to investigate potential root causes of any health concerns and then improve health by rectifying these issues.

Nutritional Therapy and Functional Medicine can benefit many areas of ill health, such as:

  • Digestive Disorders

  • Weight Management

  • Stress Management

  • Fatigue

  • Female /Male Health

  • Hormonal Imbalances

  • Food intolerances and allergies

  • Immune System Issues

  • Skin Conditions

  • Depression and Mood disorders

  • Cardiovascular Disease

  • Sleeping disorders

It is important to know that Nutritional Therapy should not be seen as a substitute for alopathic medicine.  For any serious health concerns you will always be advised to seek medical care.
